We’re in the Million Tree Challenge!

Why do trees matter?Did you know Silverton Casino has funded the planting of 10,000 trees in celebration of our 25th anniversary?

The project, a partnership with One Tree Planted and their Million Tree Challenge, seeks to help reforest National Forests across the USA by planting 1 million trees in 2022.

“We’re thrilled to partner on the Million Tree Challenge,” said Rob Kunkle, president of Silverton Casino. “Anybody who has visited Silverton during our past 25 years has enjoyed the fact that our building pays tribute to great American lodges.  In honor of our anniversary, this is a perfect way to give back to our nation’s national parks and forests.”

The contribution was made in the name of the Las Vegas casino’s Team Members, Silverton Reward Members, past hotel guests, community partners and vendors.

The benefits of this new Million Tree Challenge partnership include:
● Supporting animal habitat ecosystems
● Restoring areas impacted by wildfires
● Contributing to the long-term health of National Forests
● Raising awareness about the importance of trees and reforestation

Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80 percent of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and repairing communities devastated by wildfires.

“We’re excited to have the support of Silverton Casino on such an impactful project,” said One Tree Planted founder and Chief Environmental Evangelist, Matt Hill. “We admire the company’s commitment to helping the planet. It’s a prime example of how eco-conscious businesses can make a big and positive difference for the environment.”

A Las Vegas Legend:
Strawberry Tall Cake

“The best strawberry dessert this side of the Rocky Mountains.”

Strawberry Tall Cake — our take on strawberry shortcake — has been offered at Silverton Casino since Day One.  Since then, we have served nearly one hundred thousand Strawberry Tall Cakes desserts.  One of our most popular items, they are still on the menu today at Sundance Grill.

One food critic described it as “the best strawberry dessert this side of the Rocky Mountains.”  After one bite of this perfection, you may wonder what they are serving on the other side of the mountains.

In honor of Silverton’s 25th anniversary, the cake is being offered for $2 on Tuesdays throughout the month of July, with the purchase of any entrée at Sundance Grill.

It has introduced mermaids to the desert, Bass Pro Shops has joined in the fun and there’s more to look forward to in the future as the Silverton Village grows.  In honor of our 25th anniversary, here are a few fun facts about Silverton Casino:
