Las Vegas Community Project

Silverton Casino has embarked on a new Las Vegas community project — planting 10,000 trees in celebration of the casino’s 25th anniversary.

The project, a partnership with One Tree Planted and their Million Tree Challenge, seeks to help reforest National Forests across the USA by planting 1 million trees in 2022.

“We’re thrilled to partner on the Million Tree Challenge,” said Rob Kunkle, president of Silverton Casino. “Anybody who has visited Silverton during our past 25 years has enjoyed the fact that our building pays tribute to great American lodges.  In honor of our anniversary, this is a perfect way to give back to our nation’s national parks and forests.”

The contribution was made in the name of the casino’s Team Members, Silverton Reward Members, past hotel guests, community partners and vendors.  This month, Silverton is sending emails to these individuals to thank them for their ongoing partnership, and to share the news of the Million Tree Challenge Las Vegas community project.

The benefits of this new Million Tree Challenge partnership include:
● Supporting animal habitat ecosystems
● Restoring areas impacted by wildfires
● Contributing to the long-term health of National Forests
● Raising awareness about the importance of trees and reforestation

Million Tree Challenge VegasPlanting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80 percent of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and repairing communities devastated by wildfires.

“We’re excited to have the support of Silverton Casino on such an impactful project,” said One Tree Planted founder and Chief Environmental Evangelist, Matt Hill. “We admire the company’s commitment to helping the planet. It’s a prime example of how eco-conscious businesses can make a big and positive difference for the environment.”
