It’s pumpkins, physics, and fall fun all rolled into one! Join us for Pitch That Pumpkin | Fall Fling Festival, where engineering meets autumn celebration. This all-day celebration brings live music, food trucks, local vendors, and one seriously epic engineering challenge.

The highlight of the day? Our Pumpkin Trebuchet Competition. Local schools and youth STEM groups will test their skills by building gravity-powered trebuchets designed to hurl pumpkins 80–100 yards toward a target. The team that lands closest walks away with a $1,000 prize and the glory of pumpkin-pitching greatness.

And don’t worry, pumpkin lovers, you can join the fun too! Bring your old jack-o’-lanterns and launch them sky-high after the competition wraps.

Competition Details

📅 Date: Saturday, November 1, 2025
🕙 Time: Setup 8:00 AM | Competition 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: Silverton Casino Parking Lot
🎁 Prize: $1,000 to the winning school/group

Who Can Enter?

• Middle schools, high schools, and youth STEM organizations
• Teams of 5–10 students plus one adult advisor
• One trebuchet entry per school or group

Trebuchet Guidelines

• Gravity-powered only (no springs, compressed air, or explosives)
• Pumpkins must weigh 10–20 lbs (Please provide your own pumpkins for launching.)
• Maximum size: 10’ x 10’ footprint, 15’ height
• Must reset within 5 minutes
